The
Xbox Kinect Sensor Bar is going to change the way we communicate with our
gaming consoles. It looks like this new technology is going to revolutionize the
gaming industry. The word on the street is that the new Xbox Kinect Camera will
be available around Nov 2010. It seems that Microsoft is delaying the launch so
that the game developers can create some really cool games for it. The rumor is
that there will be around 14 games available that will work with the new Xbox
Kinect sensor device at launch. One site has Microsoft estimating 5 million of the
Kinect Controllers ready for shipping on day one of launch. If that is the case
then they better keep the price around $80 bucks. If the price point is set at
$150 then the 5 million target is going to be hard to reach.
- Full body tracking - the
Xbox Kinect
provides
a new way to play where you use all parts of your body - head, hands, feet
and torso. With controller free gaming you don't just control the superhero,
you are the superhero. Full body tracking allows the Kinect sensor
to capture every move, from head to toe, to give players a full-body gaming
experience.
Personalized play – the
Xbox Kinect Camera
- Sensor Bar provides an in game experience in which the player's face and
voice are recognized. You Greet and speak to characters inside the
Xbox
Kinect Games, or simply step into view of the sensor to log into
Xbox LIVE and connect with friends. Only
the Xbox Kinect is smart enough to remember voices and
faces. Fun has never been so personalized.
Kinect Camera Sensor – The
Kinect Camera Sensor is the world's first system to combine an RGB camera,
depth sensor, multi array microphone and custom processor running
proprietary software that brings the Kinect experiences
to every Xbox 360 console. The
Xbox Kinect sensor tracks full body movement and
individual voices, creating controller free fun and social entertainment
available only on the New Xbox Kinect 360.
It
seems that the
Xbox Kinect Games are going to be a lot better that the Wii weeble
character looking games that
are currently out there in the market place. I know that I personally have lost
interest in the Wii console just for that reason. Just by looking at the Kinect
for Xbox Game Demos, I think that Kinect is going to leap frog the Wii
system games even with their initial mix of games at introduction. The
Xbox Kinect Games should look more realistic in nature which will create a lot of
excitement and this will help ease
early adoption of this new technology for Microsoft.
